About the Zine:
This (currently untitled) digital fanzine will focus on all eras of Star Wars, along with the themes and celebration of Halloween. It will be a digital bundle (zine + digital merchandise) that is planned to be ready for purchase during September, October, and early November of 2025. As of now, a charity has not been chosen yet, but after one is chosen and announced, the proceeds from the sale of the zine will be donated.What is a Zine?
A fanzine is a non-commercial collection of fan creations (including but not limited to: fanfiction, fanart, cosplay, and meta), that is collected and published either digitally or physically. Early popularizers of the concept included science fiction publications in the 1930s and 40s, but the formatting and content has evolved throughout the 20th century, notably with Star Trek and original trilogy era Star Wars projects, alongside zines created as part of punk and alternative subculture. Today, proceeds from zines available for purchase are usually donated to charity, and the aim of these projects is to celebrate pieces of media or other shared interests through fan creativity.Will this zine be physical or digital? When will it be released?
Due to the seasonality of the zine’s topic, the project will be distributed digitally. A PDF of the zine, along with files for any accompanying digital merchandise will be made available to customers after purchase, and contributors will receive theirs for free. We will be aiming for a release during autumn 2025, with digital sales likely running from mid/late September through early November.Will there be any add-ons?
Though there would not be any difference in price, the zine bundle can potentially include an OC Halloween Parade, which is a scrapbook-style PDF that will include Star Wars OCs in silly, scary, or sexy costumes. Whether or not this will be created alongside the zine will depend on the amount of applications we receieve.What is the content focus of the zine?
The zine will focus on Star Wars characters of any era and the themes, celebration, or general spookiness of Halloween. Creations for the zine can fall under a wide range of themes, though any depictions of violence/blood will be kept to a PG-13 level of intensity.Is shipping allowed in the zine?
The main zine will be gen and SFW, so romantic content will not be the focus. The OC Halloween Parade may include shipping of OCs together, such as if an artist draws their 2 OCs who are in a relationship.Is there an age minimum for contributors?
Due to the potential for violence, blood, and other such topics in art or writing, all contributors must be at least 16 years old.What kind of contributors is the zine looking for?
For the main zine, we will be looking for artists, spot artists, digital merch artists, and writers. General Application Guidelines:✦ Contributors must be at least 16 years of age.
✦ Discord will be the primary mode of communication, so contributors need to have an account on the platform.
✦ No work created by AI will be accepted in applications or the zine. If an application is found to contain work created by AI it will be removed from consideration. If a contributor is found using AI to create their zine work, they will be removed from the zine immediately.
✦ Shipping is not the main focus of the zine, shipping discourse will not be tolerated in the zine space, and mods will not be conducting background checks or judging potential contributors based on the fictional relationships they choose to engage with. For applications, please refrain from submitting any clone/clone, master/padawan, or underage ship works in your portfolios.
✦ All works submitted for applications must be SFW. The zine will be gen, so it is highly encouraged that portfolio submissions are platonic/do not contain ships. It is also recommended that at least one of the works submitted in your application is Star Wars related.
✦ Please ensure that your portfolio works are visible to anyone from the link. This can be checked by opening the link in an Incognito window. Mods will not be chasing anyone down to change their links.Artist Application Guidelines:✦ The artist application form is for those interested in applying for any of the following roles: Page Artist, Spot Artist, Merch Artist, and/or OC Halloween Parade Artist. You can apply for more than one role without submitting multiple forms.
✦ Please submit at least three (3) pieces that you feel are the best reflections of your skills and style. Works do not have to be Star Wars related but are highly recommended.
✦ At least one (1) piece must be fully rendered and contain a background.
✦ For merch artists, example pieces of the merch you would like to create is recommended but not required.

Excerpts from longer works are fine, such as individual chapters or scenes. ✦ All fics submitted for applications must be SFW. The zine will be gen, so it is highly encouraged that portfolio submissions are platonic/do not contain ships. It is also recommended that at least one of the stories submitted in your application is Star Wars related.

✦ Writing applications will primarily be evaluated based on their ability to tell a complete story within a word limit, as well as their ability to work within their chosen genre. General things like sentence structure, flow, and grammar will also be considered.
